After graduating from the University of British Columbia (B.A. History, 1991), Wendy entered insurance
brokerage in account executive and insurance placement roles. She served a broad range of clients across
all product lines in addition to managing a portfolio of program clientele. In 1998 she completed her
Certificate of Risk Management from Simon Fraser University and subsequently worked as an associate with
FN&A Consultants Inc., an independent insurance and risk management consulting firm.
During her tenure as a consultant, Wendy has worked with a variety of industries including financial
institutions, hospitality, real estate, construction, education and mining. Client relationships have spanned
specific audit projects to ongoing retention as an outsourced risk management and independent insurance
resource. Assignments have typically included reviewing corporate insurance programs, writing and
implementing corporate risk management guidelines, assisting with the renewal strategy and specialized
insurance placements, developing tailored borrowers’ insurance specifications, reviewing borrowers’
coverage for lender requirement compliance, implementing administration and training seminars for lending
personnel, and with complex insurance claims.
